Threever
A downloadable modeler for Windows
THREEVER is a focused polygon modeller and UV workspace for Windows. If you already know your way around a 3ds Max–style workflow, you know your way around this: quad viewports, sub-object component editing, a modifier stack, caddies, snaps, editable pivots, and an interactive UV editor.
It is built for game artists, students, modders and independent teams who want the polygon
toolset without a full production suite around it.
THREEVER is a creative tool and is not intended for safety-critical use. Please keep your own backups of your work!
Modelling
- Editable Poly workflow: extrude, inset, bevel, bridge, connect, chamfer, weld, target weld, cut, slice, quick slice, cap, detach, flip
- Vertex, edge, border, polygon and element levels with the familiar 1–5 shortcuts
- Selection tools that do the thinking: loops, rings, shortest path, grow/shrink, select similar
- Move, rotate and scale in world or local space, with grid, angle and vertex snapping
- Non-destructive modifier stack: Subdivision (Catmull–Clark), Symmetry, Unwrap UVW, Edit Normals, Cloth, each one switchable, and collapsible into the mesh when you are done
UVs
- A full 2D UV editor: automatic unwrap, planar / box / cylindrical / spherical projection, seams, stitch, rectify, relax, optimize and packing
- Multiple UV channels, with a checker and a distortion view for judging texel density
Look
- Physically based shading in the viewport under image-based lighting
- A scene-wide material library, create materials, name them, and drag them onto objects. One edit reaches every object wearing it
- Base colour, normal, roughness, metallic, occlusion and packed ORM maps, each with its own tiling, offset and UV channel
- Point and spot lights with realtime shadows, placed and aimed like any other object
- Bake normal, ambient occlusion, curvature and position maps on the GPU
- Reference images behind any viewport, for modelling over a concept sheet or photograph
Files
- Import and export OBJ, glTF and STL
- Autosave and session recovery while you work
- Scenes carry their attachments: reference photographs and baked maps are saved inside the document
Honest notes
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, with a GPU that supports modern graphics (most cards from the last several years). THREEVER will tell you plainly at startup if yours does not.
- It is a modeller and a UV workspace, not an offline renderer and not an animation package.
- Not yet code-signed, so Windows will warn you the first time, see the install notes below.
